Spatial Uses AI to Create First “Social” Location Dataset

Spatial, a Serra Capital III portfolio company, has announced their entry into the retail real estate industry, creating data with individual's social media posts - for use in location and site selection. Spatial combines machine-assisted analysis and human-driven data like social media content to provide a cultural map of cities. 

Spatial.ai’s full retail and restaurant product launch will be at the ICSC “RECon” in Las Vegas on May 20.

Spatial a finalist for BMW startup challenge

Spatial, a Serra Capital III portfolio company, was announced on September 20 as a finalist in the BMW Startup Challenge. Spatial combines machine-assisted analysis and human-driven data like social media content to provide a cultural map of cities.  Spatial's cultural overlays make maps more useful for many industries including automobile navigation, real estate, apartment search, vacation rental and many more.

Spatial is one of two US companies selected, and each finalist will present their technologies to a jury of leading innovators in the startup world. The top three startups, selected from those 10 finalists, will then be invited to present their innovations to a live audience consisting of international journalists and entrepreneurs in a special BMW Startup Symposium in Amsterdam on September 26th.

Spatial Named Among Top 10 Artificial Intelligence Companies to Watch

Spatial, a Serra Capital III portfolio company, was recently named to the "Top 10 Artificial Intelligence Companies to Watch in Transportation" list by Disruptor Daily. Transportation is one of the biggest aspects of infrastructure that keeps the modern world functioning efficiently. With artificial intelligence, roadways become safer, smarter places through the use of personal assistants, AI vehicle maintenance help, and even autonomous, self-driving commercial vehices.

Spatial.ai integrates social data into a navigation system based in the user’s smartphone, their platform is called Xero. Xero uses natural language processing and artificial intelligence to provide real-time information about local events. Xero integrates with AI personal assistants to offer drivers information according to their tastes.

Spatial a Finalist at Google Demo Day; Aims for Silicon Valley

Spatial, a Serra Capital III portfolio company, was chosen as a finalist at Google Demo Day on March 30. This was the fourth annual Demo Day, which is a competition for up and coming tech companies in the US. Spatial combines machine-assisted analysis and human-driven data like social media content to provide a cultural map of cities.  Spatial's cultural overlays make maps more useful for many industries including automobile navigation, real estate, apartment search, vacation rental and many more.

Spatial was one among three finalists, and google will give one finalist the chance to visit Googleplex headquarters in Silicon Valley in California and meet with investors and mentors for a chance at funding.

Serra Capital III Invests In Its 10th Company

Serra Capital III announced on December 5 that it had made its 10th investment in Cincinnati based company Spatial. Spatial has raised $2.1 Million in seed funding, with Serra Ventures leading the round. They were joined by Connetic Ventures, M25 Group, Fulcrum, Caerus Investment Partners and several angel investors.

Spatial is a social intelligence company that allows its users to navigate a city like a local. Spatial’s artificial intelligence software aggregates unstructured social data across hundreds of cities in real time.
