PGA Tour Broadens Partnership with Opendorse

Opendorse, a Serra Capital III portfolio company, announced that its partnership with the PGA tour has expanded since it originally was established in 2017. The parternship will help the Tour’s marketing partners activate relationships on social media alongside the top golfers.

Opendorse and C-USA Announce Partnership

Opendorse, a Serra Capital III portfolio company, announced on January 16 it has partnered with Conference USA (C-USA). This groundbreaking partnership makes C-USA the first conference to invest in building the brands of its players and partner universities on social media.

Chicago Bears’ Prince Amukamara Invests In Opendorse

Opendorse, a Serra Capital III portfolio company, has received an investment from Bears player Prince Amukamara, who is participating in the company's $3.5M Series A financing round. More than a third of the financing is coming from Amukamara and former Husker football players.

Opendorse connects marketers with athletes to secure sponsored social media activations from the world's most influential athletes. The company was co-founded back in 2013 by Amukamara’s ex-teammates — Blake Lawrence and Adi Kunalic.

Opendorse, a Serra Capital III portfolio company, was recently featured in Forbes on March 29. Opendorse connects marketers with athletes to secure sponsored social media activations from the world's most influential athletes.The company is releasing a software as a service (SaaS) solution for sports properties, allowing them to turn athletes with ties to the properties into social media advocates.

Some may ask, why are these athlete voluntarily handing over their social media accounts without any direct compensation provided in return? Opendorse Marketing Coordinator Sam Weber explains, "They're just very busy and don't have time to create quality content. Fans care about what they're doing on the field, the team's successes and the alma mater's successes. In turn, the athletes are more marketable for paid sponsorship deals."
